Changelog
3.0 — 12 October 2026
First release since GPSDump changed hands, and the first since 2.8.72. The app is rebuilt on many years of solid work by Stein Sørensen. A new PC app release is also planned. Until then the original Windows GPSDump stays on gpsdump.no.
Before you update: the app is republished on Google Play under a new
identity (com.gpsdump). It installs alongside the old app rather than
over it, and settings do not move across. You will need to enter your server sign-ins and
preferences once more.
Changes
- Simplified user interface with autodetection of your remembered instrument, and fewer menus and clicks
- Support for light and dark mode appearance
- Send your latest flight to XContest, Flightlog or XCGlobe in a few clicks
- Easy to import/export tasks and send to your instrument, including import of shared XCTrack tasks
- Get airspace online from openAIP and send it to your instrument
- Files are stored under
Documents/GpsDump/..., so that you find them, and you can easily rename or share them - XCGlobe flight upload (along with flightlog.org and XContest)
- Flightlog.org: Authenticate with API token rather than user name and password
- List of wings, so you don't have to type them; Flightlog.org users can download theirs from the site
- New instruments: Flymaster NAV C (experimental), and Naviter Oudie/Blade, Flytec Element, SkyDrop or any
drive of
.igcfiles over USB - Online IGC validation is now opt-in (off by default); see the privacy statement
- Full translation to Italian and Slovenian languages
- Retired instruments: Garmin handhelds over the Garmin protocol (models from before roughly 2011), MLR receivers, Compass C-Pilot and early Skytraxx over Bluetooth, Aircotec XC-Trainer / Top Navigator, MTK / Pentagram / Holux data loggers, and the Digifly Leonardo by cable (it still works over Bluetooth). These are still handled by the original Windows GPSDump on gpsdump.no. TzInstruments IGC files still open, but are no longer re-signed.
- Fixed: IGC signatures were invalid when the pilot name had letters such as č, š or ł. Save such flights again from this version.
- Various other bug fixes
Thanks from the author
Special thanks to Stein Sørensen who gave me the trust of taking over the development of GpsDump. Also special thanks to Tom Pavlič who eagerly helped out with testing, gave me valuable input and worked with translation. Thanks to Tom, we got the good ideas for the new logo and support for the Flymaster NAV C.
2.8.72 — 2 August 2024
- Handle landing type waypoints in GPX files.
- Handle Bluetooth access for Android 10.
